Floating Village Tour

The great Tonle Sap lake in Cambodia is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and one of the largest in Asia. Local villagers have adapted to life on the water and live in houses which are secured in place by long stilts. In the dry season, the water level is low and the houses sit many metres above the ground on these stilts. When the water is high in the rainy season, they sit just above the water and villagers use boats to get around.
